Year 7 Excursion

Our day at the Melbourne Museum
On Wednesday 14 June 2017, the Year 7s went on an excursion to the Melbourne Museum. The day consisted of fun activities and visits to the different exhibitions. Some different exhibitions were the Human Body Exhibition, Melbourne Story Exhibition, Ancient World Exhibition, Wild Exhibition and the Forest Gallery Exhibition.
At the Melbourne Story Gallery we explored the old Melbourne townhouses. My favourite part about this exhibition was how vivid and real the houses were. This was shown by how the information was provided throughout the rooms in the houses.
At the Human Body Exhibition we were asked to answer some questions about the interesting side of the gallery. My favourite part of this display was how the information was shown though the fun and creative activities. For example there were mirrors that changed your height and shape.
In the Wild Exhibition we picked one animal and discovered all about; its scientific name, diet, native environment and native habitat. In the Forest Gallery Exhibition our activity was to select a plant that appealed to us and discover its common and biological name, which part of the world it was native to, what environment conditions it thrives in, its appearance, main threats and any other interesting information we could find.
Overall I highly enjoyed the Melbourne Museum excursion and enthusiastically agree that in the future the Year 7 students and teachers should do it again.
