SHARED STORIES 2022      (Paula Incretolli - Literacy Leader)

Shared Stories 2022 - “Imagine If”

St Mary’s has once again been part of the Shared Storied Project encouraging our young writers and artists to create wonderful stories and art pieces at various stages throughout the year. It is such a privilege to be involved in this wonderful project in partnership with so many other Catholic schools both Secondary and Primary.

‘Shared Stories is an annual anthology of creative works by primary and secondary students from Catholic schools across Victoria.
The anthology commenced in 2006 with funding from the Felton Bequest. The concept was imagined in response to the Cronulla riots in Sydney, which challenged us as educators to explore positive and affirming ways of sharing experiences and ideas across cultural and social groups throughout Victoria.
In its 17th year, the anthology forms part of the permanent collection of the State Library of Victoria.’

This year we are very proud to announce the students who have been selected to have their pieces of writing and visual artwork added to the 2022 Shared Stories Anthology …..“Imagine If”.  These students will receive their published copies of the book along with their certificates when they arrive at our school later on in the term.

Congratulations to the following students!

SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL

Expressions of Interest

At the request of the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) board – our governing body, St Mary’s Primary School has established a School Advisory Council to support the Principal, Parish Priest and Leadership Team of the school.  At the conclusion of this year we farewell some members and invite new members to apply.

While no particular expertise is required, the school seeks people with a range of diverse skill sets to best advise the principal, united by a desire to provide the best possible education for our students.

A balanced membership with parent voice on the School Advisory Council is well-placed to advise the principal about important matters, particularly those related to the school’s Mission and students’ success.

The needs of the council will be given priority in terms of ensuring a balance of gender, cultural diversity and skill sets.

Therefore, we are calling on you to express your interest in being part of the School Advisory Council. If you are a member of the parish or have children in the school and wish to be part of this exciting development, we would welcome your application in writing to Cathy Ferrari by Thursday 8th December 2022.
