Goals for Living Well Learning Well
We are Valued, Respected and Cared For
The Term 4 theme for Living Well Learning Well at Sacred Heart is 'Living Well, Learning Well'. Each week we unpack a Core Value to remind us of the actions and behaviours to uphold in reaching our goals.
The students will write synonyms of the words 'Adopt', 'Inquiry' and 'Mindset' so they have an understanding of what each word means.
They will watch a video link - What is Inquiry-Based Learning.
Inquiry-Based Learning emphasises a student’s role in the learning process and asks them to engage with an idea or topic in an active way, rather than by sitting and listening to a teacher. The overall goal of an inquiry-based approach is for students to make meaning of what they are learning about and to understand how a concept works in a real-world context.
Children are continually asking questions in an attempt to make sense of the world, therefore Inquiry-Based Learning starts with a question ~How? Why? Where?
There is an old saying.
TELL ME AND I'LL FORGET, SHOW ME AND I MAY REMEMBER, INVOLVE ME AND I WILL UNDERSTAND.
