Vale Ethan Westwood

It is with immense sadness that our College community learnt of the passing of a current Year 9 student Ethan Westwood.

Ethan was a bright, energetic, gregarious and popular member of our Year 9 cohort who had been fighting a brave battle with severe illness for over a year. It was of some comfort for us to learn that he passed peacefully at home with his family on Saturday 8 October.

I know that this news has had considerable impact on our College. He was a student, a friend, a team-mate and much-loved member of our wider school community.

Ethan’s funeral service was held on Wednesday of last week at the Springvale Cemetery. A large number of students and staff members from EDSC attended this service, which was an uplifting and fitting celebration of his life.

On behalf of the College, I extend a message of sincere sympathy to Ethan’s father, Derek, his mother Aline, his brother Kallen and his extended family. Your loss is felt by us all.
