Reconnect mid-term report

Set your alarms - Be here by 8.35am

All students are reminded that the school bell first rings at 8:30am, which means all students are expected to be outside their Connect classroom by the time the second bell rings at 8:35am.

Please note that stricter rules surrounding bell times will come into effect on the 21st of November 2022 (Week 7).

Trending Downwards

Our late arrival data has been trending downwards since the beginning of Term 3, 2022. We are now averaging 21 students per day in late arrival for Term 4, 2022, which is down by 12 compared to last term.

Better Together

We also want to congratulate students who have made positive changes in their early morning habits by coming to school on time on a more regular basis.

We encourage all students to keep up the great work through continued practice of positive early morning habits such as setting alarms, walking faster, leaving home earlier, and going to bed early.

We also thank all staff and students for their continued support in ensuring that the Reconnect initiative continue to work its magic every single day.

Words of Encouragement

Finally, here’s a few words from one of our most improved students so far this term,  Maykil Al-Ankwe from Year 9:

“The advice I would give everyone is to sleep earlier so they can wake up earlier. I used to sleep at 1:00am or 2:00am. I now try to make sure that I am in bed by 10 o’clock. As a result, I now wake up at 7:00am on most days. Before that I used to wake up at 7:50am or even 8:00am on bad days.

Over the past few months, I’ve learnt how to get ready quickly. I used to take fifty minutes to get ready. I was able to cut that by more than half.    I feel way better now. I haven’t been in D4 during recess in a long time and it’s a good feeling.”
