A Thank You from the Senior Sport Coordination Team

To our wonderful community of Huntingtower, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the many people involved in creating such a successful and inspiring year in Sport. It has taken a whole community to have our Year 7s, beginning their journey, to Year 12s, lifting and leading their peers, to reach the heights we have achieved.

Firstly, well done to our students who have been willing to take on the challenge of learning new sports, relearning how to work as a team, striving for their best to achieve the common goal, all while demonstrating the Huntingtower ethos of kindness and fair play. We appreciate your positive attitude and willingness to turn up and give your best. The early morning training when we know you want to sleep in. Fitting into a different relay position or new sport to help the team of Huntingtower. Every moment you stepped out of your comfort zone, assisted or coached another student, put your hand up to help with equipment has been noticed and appreciated. Thank you.

To our parents, we thank you! For getting your child to morning training, we know that’s not easy! Making sure they are supplied with the correct equipment and uniform. Giving the support required to do their best and to deal with any disappointments. We appreciate every smiling face that comes to support their child on the day, this always makes a huge difference to performance and the atmosphere at our carnivals and finals.

Finally, to our Teachers and Coaches. We appreciate the time and effort you put into training students to improve their skills and understanding of the event/game you organise. Assisting every individual to bring out the best in themselves so they can shine on the field, the court, the track and in the pool. Without your time to organise team positions, beneficial drills, pep talks, morning breakfasts, positive encouragement and comedic relief we could not have the sports program run, let alone achieve premier winning results. Thank you for the long days when you attended early morning training and finished with senior training after period 6, the students and school have succeeded due to your willingness to give up your time with endless energy.

We have come a long way from virtual cross countries and 1 game seasons. This year has had its challenges, but with everyone contributing in such a positive and inclusive manner we have reached for the stars and touched them.

Congratulations on a successful year Huntingtower, you all deserve a rest.

Wishing you all a magical Christmas and happy safe New Year.

With kindness,

Mrs Baynham, Mrs Sheehan, and Ms Lovel
