Gold Duke of Ed Awards

Well done to the following Huntingtower alums who were award their Duke Of Edinburgh Gold Award in November at the Melbourne Town Hall. The Awards were presented by The Hon Dr Denis Napthine, former Premier of Victoria and Mr Andrew Houghton was in attendance.

Year 8/9 EISM Sport Champions!

Congratulations to Girls Softball, Girls Badminton and Boys Badminton who were pennant winners in November!

Melbourne University Scholarship

Well done to Annabelle Tay (Year 10) who was recently awarded the Kwong Lee Dow Scholarship to the University of Melbourne.

Annabelle was chosen from more than 1500 applicants for her impressive academic achievements and community involvement.

As part of this award, Annabelle will experience university life and take part in a range of academic and personal development events and activities over the next several years in preparation for university life. Well done, Annabelle.

Monash Scholars Recipients 2022

Congratulations to Sasha B, Ethan C and Clara A (all Year 10) who were successful recipients of the Monash Scholars Program for 2022. 

The Monash Scholars Program provides selected high achieving students from Years 10 - 12 with an exclusive opportunity to engage with Monash University. Successful scholars commit around 20 hours a year to the program; this will mostly involve attending on-campus academic and personal development events after school hours and during the holidays.

Scholars who successfully gain a place at Monash University after completing Year 12 will then continue to receive benefits including leadership and ambassador opportunities.

Chess National Champions!

We are excited to announce the Huntingtower Secondary Chess team (led by dedicated Chess Coordinator Mr Rodney Jones), finished 1st at the Chess Nationals Tournament! This is our best ever finish at Nationals. 

Additionally, our Middle Years team finished in the 3rd place - well done!

2022 BUFTA Awards 

Congratulations to Laila, Erik and Daniel in Year 12 for being 2022 Nominees and flown out to Queensland for the Bond University Film & Television Awards.

Erik won Best Animation and Laila Best Music Video - making them the top students in their category in the country! 

Lyrebird Award

On Sunday the cast of Matilda performed at the 2022 Lyrebird Youth Awards, with Arthur Inigo K-J winning his category for Best Comedic Performance in a Youth Musical. Congratulations, Arthur Inigo!
