Principal's News

Mr Rodrigues

Dear Families,

Thankfully on Tuesday we all got the news we were hoping for and the announcement was made that our children would be returning to school on Wednesday.  Whilst this most recent round of remote learning came more suddenly than we would like, I still believe that our children, all of you as parents and carers, and our teachers have been able to manage things extremely well. One thing I have been made to consider this time around, is that this may well be a  more regular experience than we would like, at least in the near future, until our world has truly come to grips with the COVID 19 Pandemic. Therefore it is important for all of us, as a school community, to maintain our resilience and positivity, as this is what will get us through. I for one can take a lesson from our children, who meet each morning with their class in their GOOGLE MEETs, with big smiles and such positive attitudes.

It is, however, without a doubt so much better for all to be back together learning and playing at school. If there is one thing this generation of teachers and children have learnt is that we should never take for granted the privilege we have of belonging to a school community and the gift we have of learning together in our classrooms.

Great to be back

I think the all around smiles say it all. The Herald Sun visited one of our families yesterday to see how everyone was feeling about the return to school, and by the look on their faces it was pretty clear. Thank you to the Gill family for providing the great photo and speaking to the Herald Sun reporters.

The news team from Channel 10 also dropped in to visit us on our first day back and as many of you may have seen we got to feature in Wednesday evening's news. Even the reporter and his camera man couldn't help smiling working with our wonderful children.

If you did miss the news you can see the clip here.

Important COVID safety measures

With our return to onsite learning it is more important than ever that we all maintain our COVID safe practices. Our teachers will be going over these with their classes to ensure we all stay safe and well. I ask you all to be vigilant about these practices and continue to wear face masks when entering the school and hand sanitizing and checking in if visiting the office.  Please be conscious of checking exposure site updates in the news each day and take the necessary precautions if any of these effect you.  We also ask that if any child is displaying any of the following symptoms that they do not attend school.

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

If any child at Trinity appears unwell we may need to contact parents to have their child collected.

Fr Trung's Installation Mass

Unfortunately at this stage it seems Fr Trung's Initiation mass will have to be postponed until Sunday 31 October at 9.30 Mass. I will communicate more information closer to the date.

Prep 2022 - Make a Friend afternoon

Sadly our planned afternoon activity for new families joining us next year will be cancelled next week, however we have been able to  to re-schedule the event to Wednesday 1st September from 2pm till 3pm. Following the activity we will invite those families to gather outside in the adventure playground so there is a great opportunity for our current families picking up children to come and say hello.

Kind Regards

Mr Nigel Rodrigues
