Establishment  of Interim Parish Pastoral Council

For some time now the Catholic Church has recognised that a Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) can provide valuable assistance to the Parish Priest, helping with the day-to-day workload and being able to react to the constant demands of a modern world where changing rules and legislation need quick responses.

The Covid-19 pandemic has affected the plan, drawn up by the Parish Advisory Committee last year, to introduce a Pastoral Council at St Brigid’s Parish. While we wait for a return to normal, an interim Pastoral Council has been appointed by Fr Vinoth.

The parishioners appointed to the interim Parish Pastoral Council are Kevin Petherbridge, Joe Farrugia, Carolyn Peterson, Liza Wilson, Tony Wilson and Neville Spiers.

To assist the Pastoral Council to properly oversee various aspects of the Parish, a number of sub-Committees will need to be established, and volunteers will be sought to participate on those Committees.

The interim Parish Pastoral Council will remain in place until Covid 19 restrictions are removed and Mass attendances return to normal. At that time, parishioners will be advised how nominations can be submitted for positions on the Pastoral Council.

Refer the Parish Website for more details. If you have any questions regarding the Parish Pastoral Council, please contact the Parish Office on 5428 2591 or by email to Gisborne@cam.org.au.
