VCAL Numeracy

VCAL Numeracy
During this term in VCAL numeracy, we have been collecting swimming carnival data and finding the speed of swimmers from all events. We have been calculating the mean, median, mode, and range, as well as the 5 number summaries.
Once we had collected all of our data, we presented it all in our numeracy portfolio. We added graphs of all different kinds to show our collected data in a more visual way.
When all our data was collected in a neat format in our portfolio, we compared data on all events comparing the speed difference between both Male and Female.
VCAL Swimming Report
On the 9th of February, Staughton College held a Swimming Sports Day at Melton Waves. There were various activities such as splash and dash, volleyball, corkscrew dive, and many more.
The VCAL students ran a great BBQ with variety of food such as sausages, cupcakes, cookies, and much more. The day was great with WATTS winning the overall day, Kitson coming in second, and Cottrell coming in third place.
The VCAL students raised over $1,000 with a profit of over $500 to go towards our end of year toy run for disadvantaged children.
