Youth Day & Jeans for Genes Day

On Friday 14 August, St Albans Secondary College celebrated Youth Day and Jeans for Genes Day. Students were able to attend school out of uniform to raise money and awareness for the Children’s Medical Research Institute who aim to improve and extend the lives of children everywhere. In total the students of St.Albans raised $610.95 for the institute.
During lunchtime House captains, VCAL and SRC students had worked in conjunction with their teachers to provide students with a variety of activities and entertainment to celebrate youth day. Activities included: staff versus student futsal match, jumping castle, lucky balloons, photo booth, handball competition, coloured hair spray, the selling of ice-cream, pizza, doughnuts, pancakes, sausage in bread and sweets. We also had the school bands play and were fortunate enough to have the band Far Away Stables play as well. All students involved in the organisation and running of the day should be proud of their efforts as all students and staff enjoyed the festivities.
