New House Sports Tops are a HIT!

With the launch of the new house sports polos, students are rushing in to buy them at the introductory price of $20. The tops will cost $30.00 in Term 4. All students will be expected to wear the new tops for PE and Sport by the start of 2017.

The House Sports polos are made of a modern fabric that provides a cooling effect during activity and resist pilling and fading. The 4 different polos bear the name of the House ambassador that was selected for each colour.'

300 Cheers for Ms Di Phyland

Last weekend marked a very important milestone in the umpiring career of Science & Mathematics teacher, Ms Di Phyland. Ms Phyland umpired her 300th game in the Women’s Football League. The milestone was reached  in a game at Manor Lakes on Saturday.  Ms Phyland was carried from the field on the shoulders of members of the Melton Football Club who had attended the game to celebrate her achievement. When considered along with the umpiring she has been involved in with The National Masterules Carnivals and EDFL, the total games she has officiated in are in excess of 1000.

Ms Phyland isn’t thinking of giving it away any time soon and says she is having far too much fun. It's also a great way to maintain a high level of personal fitness and meet new people.

Congratulations Di – can’t wait to celebrate the next 1000.

A musical treat for our students – FAR AWAY STABLES

On Friday 14 August, students were treated to a visit by the increasingly popular band from Sydney – FAR AWAY STABLES. The boys spent time visiting the Year 8 Music class, where they wrote a song together, and the Senior VET class,  as well as playing some of their songs during the lunch break. Their message to students was a strong one that highlighted that the secret to success is hard work and a belief that anything is possible. Not only were they quality musicians, but really genuine young men who reinforced the school expectation for students to set their goals and be the best they can be.

Far Away Stables Band Members

The band has recently returned from the USA where they visited numerous schools speaking and playing to young people. They will start an Australian Tour in the next month and hopefully Melbourne is on the schedule.

Thanks to Mr Orchard for his support in bringing the band into the school and a big thank you to our students who impressed the band members so much that they told us that this school was the best they had visited.

And finally.....

A big congratulations to all of our students who are competing in this year's SASC's Got Talent competition.  We are loving the performances and so impressed by the talent of our students and the support they give each other.
