SEAL Information Night

Staughton College invites current primary school students and parents interested in hearing more about our Select Entry Advanced Learning (SEAL) Program to attend our 2019 SEAL information Evening. If you are interested in learning more about how the SEAL program may benefit your child and want to learn more about the testing and selection process, we welcome you to join us on Monday 6th of May 2019 from
6:00 - 6.30 p.m.
The Select Entry Accelerated Learning (SEAL) Program is designed to cater for gifted, talented, and high-achieving students. It operates on the principles of Curriculum Acceleration and Enrichment.
Curriculum Acceleration facilitates students to achieve four years of learning growth across a three year program, strengthening student’s readiness for senior secondary years and allowing them greater flexibility in subject selection when considering VCE, and in some cases, tertiary units.
Curriculum Enrichment involves encouraging students to become metacognitive; active learners who take ownership over their learning journey. Through the use of the Inquiry model, students are consistently encouraged to develop deeper level questioning that explores the way their learning applies within the world and can be used to effect change. Students are challenged to question, research, analyse and synthesise information. Problem solving and creative thinking become fundamental to the way they order their developing understandings and apply them to practical demonstrations of learning.
