4A Biological Sciences/STEM

The grade 4s have been learning about plant life cycles. They have been investigating the effect that water, sunlight, and soil quality have on the growth of a bean shoot. Students have been monitoring the growth of their own plants and making suitable adjustments to maintain healthy plant growth. They have been observing more established plants within our school to help understand the conditions required for a plant to complete its full life cycle.

2022 Student Attitudes to School Survey

Dear Families of Wyndham Vale Primary School,

Students in Years 4, 5 and 6 will be participating in the 2022 Student Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS) throughout Term 2. We at Wyndham Vale Primary School value student voice as a means to improving student engagement, wellbeing and quality instruction and are conducting the survey to find out what your child thinks of your school.

The AtoSS is an annual student survey offered by the Department of Education and Training to assist your child’s school to gain an understanding of students' perceptions and experience of school. Students will be asked about their thoughts and feelings in relation to their school, their learning, peer and family relationships, resilience, bullying, mental health and wellbeing, physical activity, and life in general.

In our experience, young people enjoy having their say. We have been running this survey for many years and it has been invaluable in helping our school understand our students' views. We will use the survey results to plan programs and activities to improve your child's schooling experience.

Your child will be invited to complete the survey online during the school day using a purpose built secure online survey tool. The survey will take around 20-45 minutes to complete. All responses will be confidential and non identifiable to the individual.

If you would like more information, please speak with our administration staff to request contact with our Survey Co-Ordinator.

Kind Regards, Sal Farfalla Survey Co-Ordinator.
