Digi Tech Classes
Term 2
This term, Year 1/2 and 5/6 students have been participating in Digi Tech sessions with Mr Hoare and Mrs Torrisi.
Year 5/6 students were given the challenge to work collaboratively to design and build a maze for Sphero using Kinazium mats. They then used the Sphero Edu app to develop a digital solution (using coding) that would help their Sphero navigate the maze.
Through this project, students have been learning to:
- generate and develop design ideas collaboratively
- design a simple algorithm diagrammatically
- develop digital solutions as simple visual programs
Year 1/2 students have been exploring Google Apps for Education including Gmail, Google Drive and Google Classroom. They have been reviewing and discussing safe practices and expectations when online and learning to sign in to their Google accounts.
They have enjoyed organising information about themselves to create an 'All About Me' poster on Google Docs.
Through these sessions, students have been learning to:
- use digital systems for storing information
- use digital systems for downloading information
- use digital systems to present data creatively
- create and organise ideas and information safely using information systems.
