From the Head of Junior School

With Term Two halfway through, there has been a lot happening in the classrooms and outside of Wyndham Christian College. Recently, our Year 3, 5 and 7 students completed NAPLAN and there were a number of excursions where the students were able to showcase their skills and talents with other Christian Schools.

Firstly, I would like to congratulate all of the students who successfully completed all of their NAPLAN exams. They did a wonderful job in answering the questions and completed the tasks to the best of their abilities. Well done to these amazing students.

Nine students were selected to represent WCC at St Andrews Christian College to compete in the Christian Schools Event Network public speaking competition. They spoke with confidence and composure on the topics they were given. They had to memorise a 4-minute speech on a set topic and recite it to the audience. A huge congratulations to our five primary students, who won the Primary event, and our four Year 7 students, who came fifth on the day. A special mention to Naomi from Year 7, who was judged to be the best public speaker overall for the competition. Well done to all involved.

Congratulations to the students involved in the Soccer Gala day, held at Galvin Park. These students participated in multiple games during the day and used their sporting abilities to represent the school. They showed great sportsmanship and showed determination and effort. A special mention to the girls team that competed and won a medal for winning the girls competition.

1 Peter 4:10-12 says “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.” I encourage you to use the many gifts God has blessed you with wisely and use these gifts to bring honour and praise to the Lord our God.

Many Blessings
