Carlton North Wellbeing

Hello! My name is Christine and I am a final year Masters of Counselling student at Monash University and will be the School Counsellor at Carlton North Primary till October. I believe in a warm, gentle approach in counselling in ensuring that each child will be able to feel understood, able to be themselves and safe in my care. My focus is on getting to know your child as who they are and partnering with them in understanding themselves better in order to be their best selves. I believe counselling to be a helpful tool in allowing children the space to learn helpful tools to talk about the big and small emotions they may be feeling in their everyday lives and that it can be beneficial for all children, especially as we come out of some of the hardest years.  Prior to this, I had worked in the education sector in Malaysia and hold the wellbeing and safety of all students very close to my heart. I strongly value empathy and growth, in continuously growing myself in order to provide the best care professionally and personally, which is what inspires me to want to contribute towards the wonderful support team at Carlton North.
