Do all that you do with love ~

Dear Parents and Friends of St Therese's Primary School,

Happy new year and welcome back to all of our existing families. I also offer a sincere welcome to those families new to the school this year. I hope you soon feel part of our wonderful community. I hope you have all enjoyed a break over the summer and are feeling recharged ready for the new school year.

It was such a joy to greet the children whilst on duty for the last couple of mornings, there really didn't seem to be any sad faces or grumpy children not wanting to be back at school. The teachers had spent Friday of last week and Monday engaged in professional learning and by Monday afternoon they were ready for the children to be here. I hope you know just how lucky we are to have such committed teachers who love working with your children.

I would also like to welcome all of the staff back and extend a big St Therese's welcome to our new staff. Mrs Liz Szabo joins our Grade 4 team in 4SB as does Mr Patrick Pawlukowski teaching 4P. Miss Ashleigh Olive joins our Grade 2 team with class 2OH and Ms Susan Omond joins our ESO team. I'm sure you will also extend a warm welcome to them as well.

A few changes

The school hasn't been completely locked up over the break. We have had a number of tradies in completing work and deliveries for some exciting changes to the school.

Our brand new playground was finished in time for recess yesterday and has proved a huge success. I'd like to say a huge thank you to the group of students who worked so hard with Mrs Hinds and Miss Foster to make this happen. There was great excitement yesterday as children from across the school tried out all the new features. I was also pleased to see that there was a lot of turn taking and waiting patiently.

Our Senior Learning Spaces also look a little different. The large bifold doors separating the classrooms have been removed which makes the rooms look larger and lighter and we have had brand new furniture delivered as well. These changes make the learning spaces look a little more like the rest of the school.

Start / End of the School Day

I'd just like to add a friendly reminder regarding the times for the start and end of the school day. Children should be in class by 8.55 ready for their teacher to take the roll and begin the morning routine. I understand that sometimes things happen and you may find yourself a little late but please aim to have your child/ren at school on time every day. The school day ends at 3.30. Parents are more than welcome to walk to the classroom exit and wait outside for their child/ren but please don't enter the classrooms to take the children before 3.30. If you are waiting onsite for your child, please wait out on the playground and when the bell rings, walk to their classroom to meet them. One final little request, please don't use the office as an entry or exit point for the learning space. We ask that you use the footpaths around the school. Thank you for supporting us in this matter.

School Fees

School Fees will be billed next week and sent out to families via email, so please make sure you check your spam/junk mail just in case it ends up there.  A note to families who are holders of a Health Care Card or Pension Card.  A CSEF form will need to be completed and if you haven't done this, these are available at the office.  Also available at the office are Direct Debit forms.  Direct Debit is a great way to pay your fees, chipping away at the balance slowly over the year.

Prayerful moment

Have a great week!
