Community Group News
On Tuesday the Community Group meet for the last time in 2022. It was a good chance to reflect on the year that has passed and the work that everyone has done to help around the school and beyond.
Some of the highlights for me have been the days in which we have fed the students. It is always a pleasure to see them get excited for a sausage or hot dog. Second to this is the catch ups we have had at the school. These have been a great way to meet new families and foster community spirit that we all love to have around us.
From a fundraising point of view we have managed to raise approximately $10,903.10. These funds go towards helping improve the school and make our end of term functions happen as well. This money could not have been raised without the help of all the parent and staff helpers. From Mother’s Day Stall to Bunnings BBQ, Pre Loved Uniforms to Zooper Dooper Days these all help us to raise important funds.
The good news follows with the shade sails being installed as we speak and the contribution of $30,000 from these funds has meant we got more shade around the school which will be welcomed when the weather heats up. We also were able to contribute to the purchase of new books that will help our classrooms out with reading.
The Community Group saw the Netball and Soccer join us and with that a greater pool of helpers which is great for these extra out of school items that need our help too.
Lastly I would just like to wish everyone a safe a Merry Christmas. May you all get a well deserved break and enjoy some family time.
Community Group Positions
At the last meeting we decided to put the positions on hold until early 2023. This will give us time to find other parents that may want to help out and join in.
The Community Group is looking at ways to engage with more families and get parents involved. If you are interested in helping out with things please let us know commgroup@slshepparton.catholic.edu.au.
Year Level Group Delegates
We have started to get these together for 2023. We hope to have the list to the students by the end of term. The delegates are there to help parents with reminders and a good low key way to find out how to get the right information.
Sports News
Please think over the holidays if your child will be playing soccer or netball as these registrations will come out in the first few weeks of the New Year. We are already on the look out for coaches and team managers, so if that interests you please let us know.
