Building Works Update

As you drive past the School you will notice our new Magill School building taking shape. It is hard to remember the old building that was demolished late last year.

Significant works have taken place over the last few months.

The outline of the building is taking shape with the central canopy installed along with the building steel frame.

The roof is in the process of being installed on both the new building and the old section of Penfold that was retained.

Concrete floors have been poured and internal works to fix services such as roof insulation, plumbing, data connections and electrical wiring is currently happening.

We expect installation of ceilings and walls to commence shortly.

Construction  for the access ramp to the new building is currently underway.  As a result, a section  of the fence line near the R-2 playground has been extended into the School ground.

There has been some impact to the school grounds with the builders needing to dig two main trenches.  One trench was to connect the new building to school’s central infrastructure which is located in the Ferguson building. Another trench was dug to connect the new building fire hydrant to the fire main system located near the grain store.

Please exercise caution as you move around the school grounds, especially near the new building area.

It is exciting to see the architectural sketches come to life.
