YEAR 12 PHILOSOPHY

The year 12 Philosophy class had a visit from Professor Laurance Splitter, the schools program coordinator for the Victorian Association for the Study of Philosophy in Schools and also the secondary student 'Philosothon' in Victoria.  Laurence, who is 'philosopher in residence' at McKinnon Secondary College is a published philosopher and former university academic, who has studied at Oxford. He shared some of his ideas with the class and challenged their views and arguments leading to thoughtful debate and discussion.  Year 11 students were encouraged to participate in the state-wide Philosothon later this year. We are very grateful to Laurence for generously sharing his time and expertise with us.
