YEAR 8 CAMP
In week 3 of this term, 147 year 8 students and 15 staff attended YMCA’s Lake Dewar Lodge in Myrniong for three days of fun. Despite the cool, cloudy weather on the first two days, the students weren’t discouraged from the many great activities on offer. They worked their way through four activities a day including stand up paddle boarding, a dual flying fox which was over 100m in distance, downhill mountain biking, jetty jumping, kayaking, a giant trek down into Werribee Gorge and others. For some, it was all fun and games but for others it pushed their boundaries, got them outside of their comfort zones and provided a serious challenge. It was great to see students setting themselves these personal challenges and to push themselves beyond what they thought they were capable. Well done!
I’d like to thank all the staff who came along and assisted while on camp. We really appreciate
your efforts and the time that you take away from your own families.
