Endeavour College entered four teams into the SACSA AFL competition held at Barrett Reserve West Beach during Week 5. The rain held off for both days providing ideal conditions for competition. Each day was structured as a round robin tournament with finals being played at the end of the day. The Year 8 & 9 boys finished 2nd overall, losing only one game to Tyndale in their minor round games and again in the grand final. Full results came be found on this page under SACSA Carnivals.

Thank you to the students who competed and the parents who came to assist and spectate during the carnivals. Thank you also to our coaches Mr Maddern, Mr Willsmore, Mr Stevens, Ms Schmocker, Mr Slattery and Ms Dutton for their efforts in training and coaching teams.

With two SACSA carnivals remaining for 2019 students are looking forward to Soccer in Week 9, Term 3 and Volleyball for Years 10 and 11 only in Week 2, Term 4. Students can listen out to morning notices for sign ups and further information.

A reminder from the last issue of the Anchor that there has been a change to the format of SACSA carnivals meaning schools are now categorised into Division 1 and Division 2 based on the number of students enrolled. Endeavour has been placed in Division 1 due to its comparatively large enrolment numbers from Year 8 to 12. This has meant that each division now has on average six to ten teams and will lift the level of competition for our students. We are looking forward to the challenge and already feel like the division is suitably competitive for our students.
