Endeavour College has entered Netball, Soccer, Badminton and Australian Rules Football teams in to the Vista school sports program in Term 2. The first round of competition proved challenging as we were unable to secure a win across the board. With many of the teams having a bye for Round 2, coaches and players are utilising the extra training time before our next game. Round 1 also brought with it the first opportunity for students to wear the new College competitive sports uniform. Students enjoyed the updated look and feel of the new uniforms.
Congratulations to the Year 8 & 9 Girls Knockout Netball team who secured their first win in the knockout competition, defeating Parafield Gardens convincingly, 82 goals to 17. The girls will now progress to the next round of competition and are looking forward to the competition which awaits. Thank you to Miss Facchin and Katie Wyatt for efforts training and coaching and thank you to the parents who came to support the girls in their first win.
The Open Boys Soccer team will compete in their first round of Competition to be held at Thomas More in Week 5. The team is selected from a trial of our best Soccer players and advancement to the next stage of competition relies on success at each round. The first round will see games played against Endeavour College, Thomas More and Paralowie R-12. Best of luck to our Open Boys Soccer team.
Term 2 SACSA Carnivals are fast approaching with Cross Country being held in Week 5 at Carisbrooke Reserve and Boys and Girls Netball in Week 6. Students are excited to begin competition against new schools while competing in a Christian Community. SACSA brings together 23 affiliated Christian schools from around Adelaide to provide competition against students who have similar values. The level of competition SACSA carnivals provide is of a high standard, with school such as Tyndale, Kings Baptist, Temple and Torrens Valley entering strong teams. We are excited to provide this level of competition to our athletes here at Endeavour to allow them to grow as individuals through their sporting achievements.
Endeavour College is blessed with many talented athletes, with much of their success often being achieved in their sporting clubs or associations outside of the College. We would like to hear from you if your child has excelled in their chosen sport as we will celebrate these achievements in future Anchor articles.
