Congratulations to the students who received class awards at the K-6 assemblies last week: Jack Mason, Bohan Randall, Kate Kernke, Madyson Higgins, Max Sweeney, Haylee Phillipps-Lewis, Maggie Harris, Evan Burgess, Luke Readett, Zara Butcher, Toby McCudden, Kaidhn Holder, Callie Sterling, Hannah Sanderson, Alex Kemp, Maddy Campbell, Lucy Tucker, Lachlan Peterson, Dustin Uebergang, Jack Jellicoe, Chalotte McInnes, Anita THivakon, George Wood, Mia Brand, Cilla Monie, Natalie Kernke, Lleyton Villamor, Ashley Henwood, Maggie O’Brien, Lizzy King, Frank McCosker, Rocky Roger, Jack Sinclair, Ethan Devlin-Jones, Tom Sinclair, Griffin Byrne, Alen Varghese, Isaac Whan and Hamish Ford.
Year 5 nominations have occurred today and voting will take place next Wednesday for the 2018 SRC.
On Wednesday morning our Year 5 students will depart on their excursion to Lake Keepit Sport and Recreation Centre. Students will be accompanied by Mr Baz, Mrs McCormick and Miss Leighton. All students need to be at the Tourist Information Centre by 6:45am for a 7:00am departure. The students will get the opportunity to go canoeing, monkey climbing, kayaking, and experience archery and the giant swing.
Our Year 6 students are in Canberra this week. They left early Monday morning for 5 busy days in our Capital City. Students will get to visit places such as National Museum, Mt Ainslie, Cockington Green, The High Court, Questacon, Parliament House, Government House, The Mint, The Institute of Sport, the Australian War Museum and ‘Flip Out’ trampoline centre.
On Thursday morning our Year 4 students will depart on their excursion to Thalgarrah Field Centre, Armidale. Students should be at the Inverell Tourist centre at 7.20am. They will need a packed morning tea and lunch for the first day, drink bottle, sunscreen and hat. No devices are allowed on this trip and any medications must be labelled with student’s name and instructions for administering. Mrs Gleeson, Ms Gartshore, Mrs McNeil, Mr Hilton, Mr Clarke and Mr Tuck will accompany students. Students are reminded they will need a packed lunch and morning tea for their first day.
On Thursday morning Ms Wilson and Mrs Dolbel will be accompanying Year 3 students on their excursion to Thalgarrah Field Centre near Armidale. Students should be at the Inverell Tourist centre at 7.20am and will return at approximately 5:00pm. Students are reminded they will need a packed lunch and morning tea for their first day.
The end of year K-2 social will be held on Thursday 30 November from 3:30-4:30pm in the school hall. There is no cost and students will receive afternoon tea. The children may bring plain clothes for the social and will be able to change into them at the end of the day. Parents are asked to collect students from classrooms at 4:30pm.
The Year 3-6 social will be held on Thursday 30 November from 5:30-7:00pm in the school hall. There is no cost for Year 6 but Year 3-5 pay a $2 entry fee or $3 for a family.
On Thursday 7 December our annual Infant’s Christmas concert will be held. Infant’s classes have been working hard on items for the show and the children are very excited. Parents, family and friends are all welcome to come and watch on Thursday at 12:15pm in the school hall.
