College Captains' Investiture Assembly

Last week we inducted twenty of our Year 12 students into leadership positions for the 2019 school year.  Our student leaders do set a terrific example for others in the school to follow, and we look forward to working with them in their official roles.  Joining us as a guest speaker at the assembly was Sam Atukorala, who was recently acknowledged as Greater Shepparton’s Citizen of the Year.  Sam delivered a really positive message about the importance of making a difference in the community, and it was one that fitted well with our culture of looking after one another.

SWIMMING SPORTS

A huge thank you to all students, staff and parents who supported our swimming sports day on Monday. The day was a wonderful success with Kenny taking out the title this year, and the level of participation was pleasing to observe.  Thanks to Elisha Fiddes, the House Captains and the wider staff team for helping to make the day a successful one.

ACCESS TO XUNO

All feedback comments, SPA and progressive reports can be accessed on our Student Management System (SMS) titled XUNO. If you do not yet have a username and password for this system, or are having difficulty accessing your child’s reports, do not hesitate to contact the school for support.  We had approximately 60 parents attend the Xuno Information session on Tuesday night, and as always, we appreciate the efforts that parents make to be actively involved in their child’s education.

Traffic Safety

A number of parents have been seen dropping off and collecting their children from the rear of the school where the bus loop is located. We moved the buses away from the front of the school so as to separate cars from buses. So it is imperative that parents not use the back  loop roadway to drop off and collect. We ask you to please respect this request as it is a safety issue with buses requiring a clear passage to enter and leave this area. There is a car park to the east of our oval which is an ideal place for parents to wait for their children to cross the oval and be collected.  We thank you for  your support in this matter.

YR 7 BBQ

It was very pleasing to see a large crowd attend the Year 7 Welcome BBQ held last week. The weather on the evening was perfect and the music provided by Wanganui Park young musicians created a very pleasant atmosphere. Peer Education students did a sterling job, cooking the food and running the evening’s activities. The occasion provided a great opportunity for parents to meet with Co-ordinators and teachers before the upcoming Howqua Camp and parent-teacher interviews. Please continue your connection with our school and make full use of the XUNO parent portal.
