Badminton

Wanganui Park Secondary College has had a long involvement with the sport of Badminton with many students achieving success at both state and local levels. Students can take part in two competitions:

  1. The Shepparton Badminton Association Junior competition is played during terms 2 and 3 on Friday nights between 4-30pm and 6-30pm at the Shepparton Sports Stadium. Players at all levels of experience can be involved in one of the Friday night mixed teams. Practice will be available for all players in the “Visy Cares Centre” during a lunchtime session. A meeting will be held at lunchtime on Monday 25th February where player/parent agreement forms and information sheets will be handed out. Agreement forms should be completed and returned to the general office by Tuesday 12th March. Fees are yet to be confirmed at the AGM but are expected to be $85 for all junior players in 2019. This covers all competition night court fees. This fee must be paid to the WPSC general office by Friday 15th March.
  2. The School Sport Victoria (SSV) interschool competition played as a winter sport in terms 2 and 3 during school time. Up to eight teams, each of 4 players (separate boys and girls teams) are chosen through selection trials. They include teams in Year 7, Year 8, Years 9/10 and Year 11. Information about this competition is advertised on the student bulletin.
