PE Demonstrating our learning
It was time for the Bimbadeen students to demonstrate their learning so far this term in PE with an assessment task for all students. Well done for those students who have completed their task and already sent it to Miss Schie.
A special congratulations to those students who presented their assessment in the PE WebEx sessions over the past two weeks. Miss Schie was so impressed by your confidence and resilience when in front of a large group of students.
If you haven’t yet completed the assessment task, have a look at the PE lesson plan for week 5 and send it in when you have completed it. If you are struggling with fitting everything in, we understand. We only ask that you do your best and even if you can submit a task “late” we appreciate your efforts rather than not having a go at it at all. If you have any concerns, please contact Miss Schie or the relevant Specialist teacher and we will be happy to have a chat with you about it. We do not want to cause added stress to you and your family during this time.

Foundation to Year 2 – Demonstrating the control of our body
This term, we have been learning to control our body in many different ways: jumping, landing, rolling, balancing and travelling.
In Week 5, the students were challenged to create a sequence of movements, practise it and then present it. Miss Schie is so proud at how hard the students worked on this assessment task and she is enjoying looking at the many videos, pictures and worksheets that have been sent in.
Check out some amazing movement sequences that our Foundation to Year 2 students put together!
Year 3 to 6 – Demonstrating their knowledge of Wall and Net games
This term, our older students have been learning about Wall and Net games and the strategies and skills that this category of games involve. Sports that fit into this category are: tennis, badminton, volleyball, downball and squash. Some strategies in Wall and Net games include: sending an object to a wall or over a net but making it hard for an opponent to return; and using a ready position in the middle of your court/area to best defend your space.
In Week 5, the students were challenged to invent their own Wall and Net game. I was overwhelmed by the creativity of our students when designing their games for this assessment task. They had to consider their choice of equipment, safety, rules, inclusion and fun while also ensuring it shared the strategies of other Wall and Net games.
Miss Schie has been enjoying looking at the wide range of games that have been submitted. Have a look at some of them here and maybe you could have a go at playing these at home!
