Year 11 Retreat
All Year 11 students took some time out of the normal school program for a Retreat Day based around the theme of ‘Building Character’. It was a time for students to begin to understand that faith and a relationship with God can give us the power to overcome life’s challenges.
Students looked at what is required in building character and to appreciate the importance of ‘resilience’ in overcoming life’s challenges. They also looked at how to identify the effect of positive or negative life choices. The focus was on their relationship with Jesus and to recognise that it is possible to know Jesus as an intimate friend.

Mock Trials
Round 3 of the 2020 Law Society of Western Australia Mock Trial Competition was held on Wednesday night at the Supreme Court. Our team won against Lake Joondalup Baptist College in a civil case concerning the tort of negligence and trespass to land. Our team appeared on behalf of the Defendant – it was alleged that during a demonstration that occurred outside the Plaintiff’s fast food restaurant, the defendant lit a flag on fire that ultimately caused the building to be destroyed. There was also red paint thrown at the restaurant window. Due to the team’s superb line of questioning and quick objections, the Plaintiff was unable to prove its case on the balance of probabilities.
There is a lot of preparation involved in the lead up to trial and so I would like to take this opportunity to thank the students who, despite their busy schedules, diligently attended lunchtime and afterschool meetings.
Our Round 3 Team included:
- Barrister 1: Benjamin Negus
- Barrister 2: Benjamin Linsten
- Solicitor: Jasmin Collins
- Witness 1: Rebecca Harsanyi
- Witness 2: Sophie Manners
- Judges Associate: Mia Fracaro
Congratulations to our 2020 Mock Trial team on the win.

Beauty commences at the moment that you decide to be yourself.
Coco Chanel
Over the last couple of weeks, the Year 7 French students have been researching French-speaking celebrities and preparing scripts for interviews between their chosen celebrities and a chat show host. Students were able to put into practice all the language they have learned so far this year. In their final lesson of the term, the students recorded their shows and we were delighted to welcome Gustave Eifel, Marie Antionette, and Coco Chanel, and many others into our Year 7 classes.

Champions School Water Polo Competition
This week our Years 9 and 10 Water Polo teams competed in the 2020 Champions School Water Polo Competition. Our girls competed on Wednesday 23 and our boys on Thursday 24 September. This year, to allow more sporting opportunities for our students, the College sent two teams to each competition. Both our development and competitive teams performed amazingly both in and out of the pool displaying outstanding sportsmanship.
A huge thank you must go to Mr Doug Watson and Mrs Hayley Rosa for all of their time coaching, supporting and encouraging our students. It is pleasing to announce that both our competitive female and male teams finished up the overall champions for both competitions. This is a credit to our students fitness, camaraderie and water polo abilities.

Further details of the Program will be provided next term. In the meantime, to express your interest in the Program, please complete the following form.
Cost is $195 for the Term (8 week program). The commencement date to be confirmed.
Intense, small groups (1 coach for every 6- 8 participants) with games at the end of the session.
