THE ART OF ZINE MAKING

The art of zine-making. Create a poetry zine, a photo zine, a comic, a collage zine, a zine of essays, a fanzine dedicated to your favorite band or artist, or a political-manifesto-type zine - the options are endless!

LIFE SKILLS COOKING

Have you ever wanted to learn to cook takeaway at home? Then life skills cooking is for you.

Has your family ever been busy and unable to cook dinner for you or you want to create something amazing yourself!

Enrol in the life skills cooking class and learn how to make classics such as lasagna, chicken parmigiana, pizza, burrito bowls, gourmet burgers and delicious pancake stacks.

Not only will you learn to make great meals, you’ll learn how to cost out a recipe and modify ingredients to suit all budgets.

YOGA

Want a chance to enable self-awareness and mindful practice? Come join us for yoga to help you relax, recover from stress and gain self-confidence.

LETS GET CRAFTY

Bring along your current craft project (knitting, cross stitch, scrapbooking etc) and use this time to nurture your creativity.

HOME GARDENING

We will be looking at how to grow plants from seeds, seedlings and succulents.  This could be for summer vegetables or flowers or an indoor plant.

You will learn what plants need to grow and how to grow them in the ground or in pots.  Plants make great presents as well and by the end of these lessons you will have something to take home.

SCRIPT TO SCREEN

Students will contribute to a short film through each stage of production from initial concept to distribution. Group members will either work on technical aspects, such as lighting, sound and editing, while all are encouraged to appear on camera in some capacity as performers. The screenplay will be written before sessions commence and the crew will work collectively to see it come to fruition.

LETS GET PHYSICAL SELF DEFENCE

Take your first steps on learning the best way to protect yourself while training your entire body. Join our program and take your first steps in giving you the best way to develop skills to protect yourself in a fun and safe environment online.

While you're learning the important skills in controlling or defusing an unwanted environment, you'll also gain other benefits such as: Confidence, flexibility, overall body strength, discipline, improving your memory, and most importantly, learning self-defense.

Anyone can do it, and it's fun for all ages. You can do it either on your own or practice safely with a partner in just 45 minutes.

And best of all, no equipment is needed other than yourself and a little space."

Year 10 and 11 Ball

Next week we will be meeting online with interested Year 9 and 10 students to plan the new Wantirna College Later Years Ball.  The purpose of the meeting will be to talk with students about the guidelines for the event and then to have their input into how that will be organised each year.

We are very exicted about this new event as we expect that the inclusive nature of it will break down barriers between our year 11 and 12 cohorts which can only assist students.
