Parent's Association

Thank you

On behalf of the Parents Association and myself, I would like to extend a huge thank you to the staff, principal team , students and parents for all their hard work.

To the staff that had the daunting task of delivering their classes via video links.

To the principal team, who, I am sure, had their school holidays interrupted by the announcements made throughout the year and had to start planning on how schooling/ teaching was delivered.

To the students who have been thrown into the unknown and the unexpected. The start/ stop/ start of schooling and I’m sure the frustration of many.

Last but not least to the parents, who in this very unprecedented times, took on board having their child(ren) at home remote learning, whilst some also were working either from home or attending their worksite.  Never an easy task at the best of times.

We say a huge THANK YOU! to you all.

May Term 4 be nicer to us all.

Second Hand Book Stall

Just a reminder to parents that we run a second hand book stall each year to assist families in the sale or purchase of textbooks for school.

The first stage of this work is collecting the stock for sale.  We ask parents and students to start thinking about and bundling up the books that could be sold for next year. We will announce the collection process through Compass soon but the timeline for bringing them in will be relatively short, so hunting them out now would be great.

Fundraisers

The Parent's Association is in the process of planning a series of fundraisers for the rest of this year and 2021.  Stay tuned for the Prospect Wines Fundraiser which will begin in November.  This will be a perfect opportunity to purchase your wines for the holiday period, You can purchase online and have them home delivered.  No fuss, no bother with funds going back to the school to support provide additional classroom materials and equipment.  We are also looking at a Christmas cake drive in the lead up to December 25.  Again, no fuss, no bother, online.

Next year we are hoping to support local family owned cinemas by running movie nights.  We are thinking that these will be great for a family night out and will allow parents to develop networks and friendships with other parents.  Please stay tuned for further information.

Lastly, as always, Parent's Association is a volunteer group of parents.  We welcome new parents at any time during the year.  Our roles are three fold, we are a core consultative group for Kevin and his team, we raise funds to provide additional equipment for the classroom and lastly we support each other in navigating the adolescence and education of our kids.
