School Uniform

Missing Items

Teenagers grow, and grow fast.  Many of our students will find when they are getting their uniform items out to prepare for school that some items will no longer fit.  Throughout term 4 we still need to have students in school uniform but we understand the difficulties that parents may have in replacing uniform items due to the restrictions.  At this stage the uniform shop cannot reopen as it is considered retail so we will need to be able to accomodate the individual circumstances of students.

If a school polo shirt or school shorts or skirt  are not available a student should wear their school branded PE shirt or PE shorts.  If these are not available the alternative item of clothing should be as close as possible to school uniform in colour and design.

School shoes meet OH&S requirements for practical classes. We ask that parents take that into account and send students without school shoes in the most robust shoes available (Students may not wear ugg boots, sandals or thongs if school shoes are not available.)

Communication

We all know how some adolescents like to test the boundaries and play the school off against their parents. To prevent this as much as possible it is very important the school and parents keep open the lines of communication around school uniform.

We ask that parents provide us with information about uniform items that students are missing and the rough time frame until replacement.  This can be done by:

  1. sending your child to school with a written note or,
  2. by sending an email to the appropriate Assistant Principal:

Uniform Passes

Students who have missing pieces of uniform will not be penalised provided they follow the process and collect a uniform pass from the Assistant Principal's offices in the morning before school.  To gain a pass students must:

  • Bring a note from home stating which items are missing and the rough time frame for when they will be replaced.
  • Report to the Assistant Principal's offices before school to collect a pass.
  • Carry their pass with them and show it to teachers if requested.
  • Request a new pass from and Assistant Principal if the pass is lost .

We will be providing long term uniform passes to students based around the time frames indicated by parents.

PE Uniform

Students will need to wear their PE uniform to school on any day they have PE as the change rooms will be unavailable due to social distancing requirements.

These changes are in place for term 4 only.  At the start of next year we expect all students to be in full school uniform.

Any questions or individual circumstances please contact either Shane Kruger (7-9) or Catherine Ford (10-12).
