Australian Geography Competition

Congratulations to all of the students who took part in the Australian Geography Competition earlier this year, with a special mention to those who achieved Distinctions and High Distinctions, and to Ryan Zerbe who scored in the top 1% of all of Year 7 in Australia. Amazing result!!

Introduction to Entrepreneurship

A number of Year 10 students are currently undertaking or have taken part in the virtual Introduction to Entrepreneurship course offered by the Banyule Nillumbik Tech School.

Students have a unique opportunity to work in small groups and learn from experienced entrepreneurs, to develop problem solving and execution skills.

One student who took part was Sophie Smith, who is in the process of establishing her business ‘New Moon Play’ and developing her prototypes. She is also in the process of organising start-up funding. This could be a great opportunity for any savvy investors in the VBC community!

“I loved the entrepreneurship program and found it enjoyable. I have been really interested in business since I was little and have always wanted to start a business in the future. I went in with the idea of natural and environmentally friendly, handmade games for children. By the end of the program I had designed a logo and created an Instagram and Facebook account for my business New Moon Play (on Instagram).”

This program is open to Years 8-12 and a November intensive is available on the following dates:

  • November 24: 9.30 am - 1.00 pm
  • November 25: 9.30 am - 3.00 pm

Please see Mrs Ramsay if you are interested in taking part in the program and remember to check out the work of this budding entrepreneur @newmoonplay on Instagram.
