What is Physical Literacy? Physical literacy is about building the skills, knowledge and behaviors that give us the confidence and motivation to lead active lives.
We have been applying for various grants through our P.E. and Sport program in 2020 to build resources, training and further capabilities in our school to provide our students more opportunities to build their life skills through movement. So far we have received over $18,400 dollars to spend on teacher training, cross-curricular lessons (combining P.E. and Maths), sports equipment and delivery by myself towards various movement initiatives across the school to further support our community to value movement and develop the skills, confidence and competence to move lifelong. Term 4 sessions have included: Basketball, Two-hand strike, Football (Soccer) games, Cricket games, Volleyball, Team building and challenge and adventure activities.

Cricket Australia has chosen our school trial and film new activities and games that will be used in the Primary School digital space at Cricket Australia. Teachers and coaches across Australia and around different parts of the world will have access to the activities, challenges and games with Roxburgh Primary School students and teachers featuring in the content. Thank you to the students who have been involved and to our parents/guardians for getting the forms completed for the students to experience this great and a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Next year we have had some significant changes towards our Greenvale District Inter-school sport program. We see more sports coming in so every student has the opportunity to participate in school sport. We also have the gender equality lens where all girls and boys have equal opportunities to participate in sport.
