Yr 5/6 St Michael's visit
SCHOOL VISIT | Last week we had the pleasure of the SMJ Horsham Grade 5 and 6 students join us for a transition / discovery day. Students spent time in the kitchen baking cookies, participating in fun P.E. activities, learning Japanese and R.E, and participating in science, art, woodwork, textiles and more in our STEAM Centre!
They have been very busy and the smiles on their faces tell the story of a great day at St B's! Thanks for coming!
Last week we had a wonderful group of Grade 6 students spend the day with us getting a taste of what secondary school will be like with us next year.
Transition Day was spent getting to know each other and learning some new skills in Textiles, creating in Art, and burning off some energy in P.E.
Thanks for coming, it was so great to have you all here!
Australian National Swimming Championships
Over 4 days, our Year 9 student, Jack Lanyon competed in 8 heats, 7 finals and 3 relays at the Australian National Swimming Championships held in Darwin on 1st-4th October.

Class of 2022
Wedding of the Year!
Earlier in the week the Hub looked a little different, with our Year 12 Class of 2022 holding their mock "Wedding of the Year" between Lotus and Joel.
The crowd gathered nervously as the processional song commenced (sung by Mrs Dooling and Mrs van Dyk), while the bridal party walked the aisle.
Mr Raven escorted the bride down the aisle, while dabbing tears from his eyes.
The celebrant, Mr Weber, did a marvelous job of officiating the ceremony and the wedding was sealed with stunning (Burger) Rings.
All in all it was a wonderful day for a wedding full of humour, fun and gorgeous characters . . . . All the things our class of 2022 have brought to our College over the years.
Pictured is the wedding party on this special occasion. It's hard to believe our Year 12's have just a few days left with us.
Year 9 Outdoor Ed Camp - Portland
Even though their trip was cut short due to flood waters, our Year 9 Outdoor Ed students managed to fit in some great activities!
Wednesday afternoon students abseiled at Cape Bridgewater onto the beach and played beach games while each person took their turn.
That night students cooked their tea on trangias followed by a night tour of Portland where they learned about the Port of Portland and the Portland Aluminium Smelter that has recently restarted production.
On Thursday, students had an early wake-up call for a morning surf at Cape Bridgewater. Students then participated in underground caving - learning about the limestone caves and how they were created and still growing. They were challenged by moving through the cave, fitting through tight spaces and overcoming their fears.
Although their trip was cut short, we are grateful to know they are all now home safe, having had many new experiences and wonderful new memories with friends.
Colour Run
We couldn't have asked for better weather for our Colour Run on Wednesday!
Students from St Brigid's and SMJ Horsham came together on Coughlin Park oval for an afternoon of obstacle course activites which involved running, jumping, crawling, inflatable bouncy castles and of course, a colour-explosion of powders!
It was fantastic to see so many families come along and watch all the fun.
Thank you to our organisers, Ms Beth Dortmans, Ms Tamika Burdett and all the staff across both schools who helped make yesterday such a wonderful day for all our students. It's events like these that make us truly grateful to be part of such an incredible school community.
