Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and the wider community,

On Tuesday we had three students represent our school at the Regional Athletic Titles. This is a magnificent achievement and the first time in the last 8 years that our staff can recall having 3 students reach this level. Though none of our students placed in their events we are still incredibly proud of them. Well done to Hazel A, Sanuli S and Isaac S.

On Wednesday we welcomed our Foundation 2023 parents as we shared a meal together. Though the venue was a little noisy it enabled many of our new families commencing at St Anne's to get to know each other as parents, a journey their children are also beginning. With 15 current families and 25 new families in our Foundation 2023 group there will be a lot of opportunity to build friendships that will carry on over many years. It was a joy to see some of them potentially start last night.  Thank you to Mrs Thomas, Mr Sullivan and Miss Eagling who joined me there representing our staff.

Some of our Year 6 students continued their preparations to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation today at JPC. They were joined by our Southern Region Bishop, Fr Tony Ireland. He quizzed them on their choice of Saint, their knowledge of the Gifts and Fruits of The Spirit and who happened to be their favourite football team! Our Confirmation candidates will receive their sacrament on Sunday 23rd October at 2pm. Having listened to the children speak to the Bishop, their families and parents can be very proud of the young adults they are progressing towards. Our staff look forward to joining our students and their families on this important day. Please keep these students in your prayers- Nicholas B, Jasmine C, Layla C, Patrick M, Polly M, Griffin O, Kingston P and Thomas W.

Fr Martin begins his long awaited leave on Monday 24th October and does not return to Australia until Friday 2nd December. I know he is eagerly awaiting catching up with his parents, siblings, wider family and friends in Southern India. We wish him great joy and a safe journey until his return. May God bless him!

Kind regards

Rod Shaw

Principal
