Year 7 2023 Transition Taster Days

New and current students who will be entering into our Stage 4 cohort in the high school in 2023 enjoyed their first 'Year 7 Taster Day' during Week 2. We warmly welcomed 7 new students and support staff from the local area and were so proud of how well they engaged and settled in. Peer support leaders from Stage 5 showed leadership and responsibility in running activities with the groups and spending time with them on the playground. Our current Year 6 students also joined in for their first taste of school as a high school student and enjoyed themselves immensely. Our next Taster Day will be held this week and will involve some time in the classroom, a whole stage game of T-Ball with the peer support leaders followed by another enjoyable time on the playground at recess (weather permitting).

Schools Spectacular 2022

Alex B, Charlie B, Breanna, Tiahna, Daisy, Dylan R, Alex P and Phebea are our school team who are performing this year in Sydney. Each Monday at 5:15am they head off on the bus to join the D'Arts Ensemble rehearsal at Marie Bashir Public School in Strathfield. They have also had one rehearsal at Qudos Bank Arena at Sydney Olympic Park.

They have learned a fun and energetic routine to the song Crowd Go Crazy and have tried on their sparkly costumes they will be wearing for the live shows.

The boys have a starring role as paparazzi, taking action shots as the dance begins and the students enter the arena.

Our students join thousands of other students for the finale and are putting the finishing touches on their dance moves.

It is a very big day full of exciting new experiences and the team returns to Orange exhausted and ready for bed!

Thank you to the staff who accompany the students to Sydney for this amazing experience.
