Our Year 12 cohort officially finished their classes last week. This is an incredible milestone for our students and one that we as a staff are incredibly proud of.  We saw the year 12s dress in their Grade 6 school uniforms, we then welcomed Movie/TV show characters before they finished on Wednesday dressed as teachers, both past and present. We saw decorations, chalk drawings, teachers vs students sporting match and lots of uniforms being signed. Many of our students are now preparing to sit their final exams and we wish our students all the very best. We would also like to wish our students moving on to the next chapter of their lives the very best, for some this will be employment, for others further training and we will even have a few travellers. May you always look back at your time at Horsham College with great fondness and as one door closes, another door opens.

We would like to congratulate our current Year 11 students who nominated for School Captain/Vice Captain and School Council Representative. Nominating for these positions take much courage and we look forward to you all being the voice of our student body.

This week, VET induction commenced. This is a timely reminder that it is important for students and parents/guardians to regularly be checking their Direqt Messages on SEQTA. This is where important information is communicated and we did have students miss out on this information. If you are having SEQTA issues, please contact the college for assistance.

As the weeks count down, we need to remind students and families that every day counts. Attendance at school is important and every day not at school adds up. Students who are absent at school, need to have their attendance approved by a parent/guardian. Families are reminded that they can call the Attendance Hotline or enter the absence through SEQTA Engage homepage.

We are starting to move into the period of exams, headstart and assessments - please contact your child’s teacher, if you have any concerns.

Take Care,

Bridie, Louise and Melissa
