WALKATHON
A huge thanks to the sports leaders and Miss Richards for organizing the Walkathon and for making sure we got to do the walk even though we had to postpone it because of the weather. The Foundation to Year 2’s walked 1.5km and the Years 3-6 walked 3km. I’m sure everybody loved it so much and we will look forward to all the new equipment. It was nice to finish the walkathon with an icy pole because it was quite hot walking.
WHAT WE HAVE BEEN LEARNING
1/2
At our incursion we learnt how to make recycled paper. We also learnt about the different minerals found in our earth.
3/4
We have been learning multiplication and division and we have been doing poetry. In the POSI program we have been learning about how to have a positive mindset.
POSI PRGRAM
For the first time at St Brigids we will be doing the POSI program and participating in activities every day for 21 days to see if we can have a positive impact on our everyday habits. Trent Cotchin and Ash Barty are the ambassadors of the Posi Program. Everybody received POSI socks last week and are welcome to wear them every sports day.
JOKE OF THE WEEK

RUGBY GALA DAY RESULTS
Last Friday some of the 5/6s went to the Rugby Gala Day. It was lots of fun and we enjoyed being part of a sport that we do not normally play. The boys did so well but didn't get an award but the girls got runners up. Well done to all the children who played on the day.
DIVISION SOFTBALL AND VOLLEYBALL RESULTS
On Monday 24th October we had the mixed volleyball tournament for Division. Sadly they didn't get through to the next round, but they played really well and were great sports. The softball team’s game has been postponed to 2nd of November. We wish them good luck.
FUTSAL TOURNAMENT
We will have a Futsal Tournament for some of the Year 6's on the 3rd of November. It will be played at Knox Regional Football Center. Goodluck to everyone going and have lots of fun!
REMEMBRANCE DAY
November 11th is Remembrance Day. It is to remember the armed service members who fought and died in the line of duty. We will be selling red poppies for $2, $3, $4 or $5. We will start selling them tomorrow afternoon.
PRAYERS IN PYJAMAS
On Tuesday night our Foundation students had a wonderful night with their parents participating in a prayer session. They made prayer cubes and decorated candles and during the day they made prayer mats to take home. They ended the session with a beautiful Irish blessing which the parents thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you to Mrs Marziano, Miss Behrendt, Miss Dickze and Mrs Sullivan for joining us.
REMINDERS FROM MRS SULLIVAN
WORLD TEACHERS DAY
Tomorrow is World Teachers Day, so please make the time to message, greet or say thank you for the wonderful work our teachers and support staff do here at St Brigid's.
BIKE SAFETY
Just a gentle reminder that when riding your bikes and scooters or walking to and from school please remember to cross at the school crossings. At the moment we have some children trying to cross on the corner of Albert and Barkly Street. It is a very busy intersection and because there are lots of parked cars it is very hard to see the children. It is for your safety that we ask you to cross at the crossings. Mrs Marziano and I will be keeping an eye out when we are on duty before and after school.
FUNDRAISING MEETING
As our Fundraising Coordinator is finishing up at the end of the year, we need an enthusiastic and hardworking volunteer to take up the position for 2023. I would like to have a meeting with any interested parents to have a discussion around what the role will entail. Any interested parents who may like more information about what fundraising will look like at St Brigid’s moving forward are welcome to join us on Wednesday 9th November at 7.00pm in the hall.
We would love to see as many interested parents as possible to attend and get an understanding of what our Fundraising looks like at St Brigid’s.
Yours in partnership
Wendy Sullivan
