International Women's Day

International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.

International Women's Day (IWD) has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere.

Our very own celebration of International Women's Day was held on Friday, 6 March and organised by our Year 11 students, Year 11 Advisers, Mrs Green, Mrs Kennedy and our Deputy Principal for Year 11, Mrs James.

Our guest speaker was Jane Jeffrey, who told us her story of success in business. From being asked to leave school in Year 11 to now owning a restaurant employing 30 staff and turning over one million dollars a year, it was an interesting and personal tale.

A great morning was enjoyed by all.   Thanks to the students and staff who came along to our celebration and of course, to the Year 11 students and to the staff  who helped with all the preparations.

This event would not have been possible without your support!
