Zone Swimming

This term has been a busy one for sport!   On Tuesday,  3 March – 47 students represented Cecil Hills High School at the Zone Swimming Carnival.  We retained both the boys and girls trophies and the overall champion school trophy with a winning margin of 242 points.

We had every relay team make it through to the regional carnival and six age champions.

Congratulations to the following students:

Max Stanley, Renaldo Ionita, Jaydan Prasad, Renae Prasad (absent from photo), Jasmine Quach, Michelle Prasad and Briarna Nile.

The Regional Swimming Carnival is next Monday 9 March. We wish all of the competitors the best of luck.

Bernera Zone

We have also had a number of our students trial for the Bernera zone sporting teams.

Congratulations to the following students in their respective sports and we wish them the best of luck in the following tournaments if they have not already been on.

• Boys Basketball – George Alavanja
• Girls Basketball – Natasha Drca, Tijana Banic
• Boys Football – Jarred McKinley,  Daniel Mihajlovic, Cayden Boyter
• Girls Football – Aleksia Sivac, Nikolija Prostran, Tiana Jacovides, Milica Drca, Maja Prostran, Jessica Narvaiza
• Girls Netball – Jasmine Scully

There will be more trials for the zone touch teams next Friday and we wish those students trialling the best of luck.

Tennis

We also had Angelina Karac make the Sydney South West Area Girls Tennis Team. Angelina will compete later this term in the State tournament.

Term One  is a busy time for sport, with a number of knockouts also in full swing.

Congratulations to the Open Boys football side coached by Mr Alfonsi, who convincingly defeated Fairvale 5 nil last Friday at the new venue at Fairfield Showground.
