Knox Division Swimming Championships

Our students representing our school had great success at the Division Swimming Championships. A big congratulations to our 11 year old Boys Freestyle relay team (Luke White, Taj Ralph, Kai Ralph & Caleb Liu), Layla Maloney, Aarya Shundravel and Gabriella Saggin who advanced through to the Eastern Regional Swimming Championships this Friday. Layla Maloney came a very close second in both her freestyle and breaststroke events while Gabriella came second in the 12 year old freestyle stroke. We are particularly proud of Aarya who came first in the 12 year old breaststroke. Also we commend the great effort of Lilliana Caia who swam with great strength and determination. She came fourth in the 11 yr old freestyle and fifth in her backstroke event.

Thank you to the wonderful parents of these students and their support of their swimming at the Division competition. We wish our advancing students the very best as they compete this Friday at the Regional Championships. GO ST SIMONS!!!!

St Simon House Cross Country

The St Simon House Cross Country on Friday 10th March turned out to be a wonderful day with many students dressing up in their House colours and creating posters to cheer on their fellow House companions. I am extremely proud of the effort our students gave on the day when running the 1km, 2km or 3km course across our school. Many of our students made it to the finish line and achieved personal bests. It was great to see the encouragement of our classes at various points along the track, cheering loudly and positively for their fellow House members.

Our new addition to the course with students running along the carpark footpath seemed to test our students but many pushed through the uphill challenge. Overall, our students should be happy with the way they completed the cross country course gaining points for their House Colour.

Below is a short video created by Mr Michael Fitzsimmons. We invite you to watch the highlights of the 2023 House Cross Country.

Knox Division AFL Girls Championships

Our school has been informed that there has been a change of date for the Knox Division Girls Football day due to the availability of SEDA students to support the running of the event. It will now be held in term 2 on Thursday 8th June at Kings Park Reserve, Upper Ferntree Gully.

Training will continue as listed below to support the teams kicking, marking, handball and game plays skills. Further training will be announced for Term 2 shortly.

In the event of undesirable weather conditions, the training will take place in the school hall opposite the school soccer pitch.

Knox Rebel Sport Community Partnership with St Simons

Knox Rebel Sport has been a wonderful sponsor of our school in the past and this year. All purchases at this store by parents of the St Simon’s school community provide our school with store credits. These credits are used to provide the school with sporting equipment for sporting activities.

We highly recommend that the next time you visit or purchase an item from Rebel Sport in Knox, ask how to earn credits for our school. Thank you all for your support of our school through our Knox Rebel Sport Community partnership.
