Parent survey 2023

Thank you to the 40 wonderful families who participated in our parent survey. We appreciate you taking the time to provide your thoughts to guide our activities this year.

In line with our focus on re-engaging our strong school community, below, I summarize the results. We also want to provide an update on recent Watashi Mo activities and information about the items we discuss at the monthly meeting.

Watashi Mo events

We have started the year strong with our ever popular second hand uniform stall and fun with the icy pole stall at Undokai. From these events we have raised $833.00.

Our next events are:

Colour Run – we will fundraise for and participating in the Colour Run on 28 April, committee members are busy working with the school and the organisers of the colour run to streamline the HPS involvement
Camp return icy poles – there will be an icy pole stall on Friday 31 March when our grade 3 and 4 students return from camp

What is being discussed at Watashi Mo monthly meetings?

The committee and members met in February and March to plan for 2023. Our top priorities have been

setting up our class reps and priority events; and
selecting a fundraising project

We are excited to share that our fundraising efforts this year will be put toward an outdoor learning space for students. Naomi, on behalf of the school, is working with us on the specifics of the space and our fundraising target. We will share this with you once settled.

Survey Results - Families want to invest in the school and community!

We were delighted that 75% of our responding families will volunteer in some capacity throughout the year. Thank you!

This means we can be confident planning events this year, knowing we have such wonderful support. We are looking into simpler ways to advertise for and secure sign up of volunteers so please keep an eye out for opportunities throughout the year!.

We got a good idea of the events you are interested in, including family events, parent/carer connect events and fete. We even had 5 people sign up for the fete planning committee which is excellent. While a full blown fete may be a little beyond our reach this year, those who have volunteered for the fete planning committee might investigate something on a smaller scale. Stay tuned!

Finally, we have class reps across most grades and years levels who will connect with class families to build friendship and connection. If you are a family of year 2 or year 6 child, we still need reps for your year level. Please get in touch with WATASHI MO at Watashimo.huntingdale@gmail.com.
