Fantastic 3/4

Term 1 Week 10 2023

What have we been up to?

As we come to the end of the term, we wanted to update you on the fantastic learning and activities that your children in Years 3 and 4 have been engaged in.

In Literacy, the focus has been on Narrative and Persuasive reading and writing. We have explored different genres and studied the key features of narratives and persuasive texts. Students have enjoyed writing their own stories and crafting persuasive arguments on topics they are passionate about. We have been impressed with their creativity and use of persuasive techniques in their writing.

In Maths, we have been exploring Number and Algebra. Students have been introduced to the concept of place value and addition with adding two and three-digit numbers with and without regrouping. They have also practised their problem-solving skills and have been challenged to apply their mathematical knowledge in real-world situations.

Additionally, in Inquiry our students have demonstrated their commitment to our community by volunteering to pick up rubbish around the school and local area. This activity has taught them the importance of taking care of our environment and being responsible citizens. It has also encouraged them to work collaboratively and develop their teamwork skills.

We are proud of the progress and effort that our students have made this term. Their enthusiasm and curiosity for learning have been inspiring. We look forward to seeing their continued growth and achievements in the upcoming term.

Thank you for your ongoing support!

Best regards,

Year 3-4 Teachers

In Literacy, our focus will be on Information text for reading and writing.
