CAREERS MEETINGS
Meetings with Ms Dimasi will be scheduled throughout Term 1and into Term 2 for all Year 11 and 12 students.
This meeting is intended to map out your future pathways beyond the college to ensure you are equipped with the information required to make the best individual decision to meet your goals.
If you are unsure of the direction you wish to take, this meeting is all the more important.
You will receive an email with a calendar invite – usually during an academe period. This meeting is not optional.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Work experience is the short-term placement of students with employers to provide insights into the industry and the workplace in which they are located. Students are encouraged to organise their own work experience placement early so that they have the greatest chance of securing their place of choice.
It provides students with the valuable opportunity to:
- Develop employability skills.
- Explore possible career options.
- Understand employer expectations.
- Increase their self-understanding, maturity, independence, and self-confidence.
Term One School Holidays - Final day to return work experience arrangement form Friday, March 17.

SESSION DETAILS
Education
A career in Education can inspire others and make positive changes to the lives of students everywhere. Find out about the range of different Education career paths, learn about how professional placements work and how the hands-on experience will prepare you for a career in and outside the classroom.
Nursing
Gain an understanding of the skills required by nurses in clinical practice. Experience a simulated clinical ward and nursing laboratory located right here on campus. In this session, you can take part in caring for a simulation patient and interact with a range of equipment our students use as they train to become a Registered Nurse.
Arts
Want a course with the flexibility to follow your passions and study a range of subject areas while traveling the world? A Bachelor of Arts offers broad skills, critical thinking and a worldly approach. English, History and Sociology are just some of the subjects you can explore that can lead to an exciting career in archelogy, museum curation or international development just to name a few.
Social Work
Social workers gain experience in many areas from many relationships, including parenting, mediation, child protection and domestic violence to working with people with disabilities. They can assist individuals, families and communities, change policies and develop programs. You can make a real difference with social work, come and find out how at our workshop.
If you are interested in attending, please note this is not a school organised activity and supervision by a parent or guardian will be required. Book via the Eventbrite link and there is an option for Parent or Other for the “What best describes you?” question.
ADELAIDE CAREERS & EMPLOYMENT EXPO
South Australia’s largest Careers & Employment Expo is open on May 12 and 13, 2023 at the Adelaide Showground. The Expo will host over 130 organisations and employers with career opportunities for all ages.
