News from Foundation

What a busy 8 weeks we have had! I cannot believe how quickly these past 8 weeks have gone! The Foundations have been absolutely amazing! It has been so exciting seeing how happy they are coming to school, learning new things and playing with their friends! We are very proud of how much they have achieved this year so far!!

Maths- Measuring time!!

These past two weeks the Foundation students have enjoyed learning about Length! We have been using lots of different materials to measure things around the classroom and to see what is the biggest and what is the smallest. Here are some photos of our measuring!

Literacy

This week in literacy we have been practising letter formations by using a range of different materials such as gemstones, sand, rice, playdough, pom poms and more! Using different materials also helps us develop our fine motor skills! Here is some of our great work!

Saint Joseph's day

On Wednesday we celebrated Saint Joseph! We learn lots of things about Joseph like how he was a carpenter and how he was kind and caring to many people. We created some Joseph crafts that included some words to describe Joseph. A big thing that we thought about was how we could be like Joseph at school.

Inquiry

In Inquiry, we have been learning about communities. On Thursday we had our families come in and tell us about their families! It was so wonderful to learn about our school families and to see some wonderful pictures shared!

On Monday we will be having a visit from the Yarra Junction Police to talk to us about how they help in the community!
