Learning Power Award Recipients

Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for their demonstration of one or many of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

On Monday during our whole school assembly, the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

Week 8

Ashton 

for being a motivated learner who has been following his writing checklist daily! Ashton has had a red hot go at writing every day this term, even when it has felt extra challenging. You should be so proud of yourself Ashton, well done!

Maxwell 

For being a motivated learner who is trying his best and a little more in all learning areas.  Maxwell independently attempts learning tasks and  is using word walls and visual aids to achieve his learning goals.

For being a motivated student who shows a willingness to invest time and effort into her learning. She has been trying hard to up level her writing by using the word wall and dictionary. Well done, Hartlyn

For showing motivation to become an independent writer. She is becoming more confident in making mistakes and uses word lists and the word wall to help her spell unknown words. Well done on being an independent, motivated and determined writer Bless!

For being a resilient learner who has continued to persist in using finger spaces so his writing can be read easily by himself and others. Congratulations Dut on progressing your writing this week!

For being a resilient and motivated learner. Despite being away for a few days due to illness, you were motivated and wrote a creative and descriptive narrative this week. You took the time to edit your piece of writing independently and produce a high quality writing piece. You consistently show these dispositions in class and you set a great example for your peers. Keep up the great work Maanya!

For being a motivated learner who always remains focused and determined to complete tasks to the best of his ability. You have also shown such maturity and resilience in your ability to regulate 'uncomfortable emotions', to bounce back and achieve amazing things. You always listen to and include your peers and should be so proud of yourself! Great job Oakley.

Umraj you have proven that you are able to ask for and use direct feedback to improve your writing- and it shows! You have also shown that you are able to work alongside your peers to reach team goals, by including others and directing learning goals. What an amazing achievement!
