Magic is believing in yourself, if you can do that, you can make anything happen.” J W van Goethe

This week, I felt compelled to promote the ‘Magic of Myrniong’ after a very special series of events!

First, Junior School Assembly remains one of my favourite activities and this week Miss See’s Year 5 performed a series of most impressive skits based on the stories of David Walliams’ The World’s Worst’ Series.  I have watched many of the boys and girls shine in the classroom but the chance to act on stage in the Simon’s Auditorium ensured a newfound sense of confidence emerge! Bravo. The entire Junior School heartily applauded the Year 5’s efforts and it was fabulous to see parents attending our assembly again!

Next, on Tuesday I observed something completely unique to our fortunate connected community.  This year, we launched College’s largest every sausage sizzle in ‘Wellness Week’.  An ambitious attempt to feed both the Junior and Senior School, followed by live music, games and festivity.  While the weather did its best to spoil the mood, the boys and girls played ever so happily and I couldn’t help but think what other P-12 independent school in the state could successfully create an opportunity for the whole school to share in the joy of friendship. Make sure you join us at Old Fashion Sports Day in December to see what I mean!

Finally, the Myrniong ‘Book Week Dress-Up Parade’ left me inspired to go home and revisit my bookshelf and read some of the scintillating story books that I read as a child.  Books like The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis or E. B. White’s Charlotte's Web.  There was plenty of colour, creativity and excitement on show.  I thank all the parents who assisted making our students marvelous creations and especially compliment the Myrniong staff for whole heartedly joining in the fun.  Well done to all.

Myrniong is without doubt an incredibly special learning environment for three to twelve year olds!  On Friday 16 September, we have a trial day for interested students.  Please share this invite amongst prospective friends and family and encourage them to join us on the last day of term wearing their footy colours.  Your support is most appreciated, to register  follow this link https://tha.ac/magic-of-myrniong and for more information, please email our Registrar, Susie Holcombe

Good luck to all students involved in Winter Football, Netball and Hockey Finals this weekend.
