Careers are on the home run with VTAC applications! We have many students applying for university degrees, diplomas and TAFE courses.

 

We have added a list of VTAC application deadlines:

We encourage all students applying, to pay their application fee of $44.00 ASAP. Due date is 29th September 2022.

 

The late fee is $126.00!

 

The next few weeks can be very stressful for our Year 12 students with a lot going on at the moment. Exam preparation, work commitments and applications to university or TAFE. 

 

How can kids manage their exam stress?

 

One of the challenges as a parent is that exams are something your child has to do on their own. But you can support them by trying the following:

  • Have realistic expectations and don't push them too hard
  • Be constructive and positive
  • Encourage good sleep patterns and eating habits
  • Provide a quiet space for them to study and prepare 
  • Teach them the importance of study breaks
  • Encourage them to ask the teacher questions if they’re unsure
  • Help them know what to expect on the day of the exam
  • Help them be on time for the exam or arrive early
  • After the exam, listen to their concerns and avoid criticising them

Access Monash Mentoring

 

Our senior students had the opportunity to hear about the Monash Mentoring program on Tuesday. 

 

Kate Kennedy-Rippon from Monash spoke for 30 mins about the amazing opportunity for students to participate in the program which gives students access to Monash University and mentors whilst they are in their senior years to support a successful transition to university.

Eligibility Requirements 

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident or permanent humanitarian visa
  • Be in Year 11 or 12 in 2023
  • Attend an Access Monash partner school
  • Be an Indigenous Australian, have a low income, or live in a regional or low-socio economic area 
  • Be considering studying at university 
  • Have parent/guardian consent
  • Have application endorsed by school.
