Soiree No 2 and  3

Following on from Soiree No 1 was Soiree No 2 and 3. These also contained many nervous students who all worked hard, prepared well and tackled their fears to perform. Over all the entire series of Soirees was an enormous success with every student who participated (over 60) performing very well. It was great to hear the variety of pieces and to hear the buzz in the room when it was all over. Thank you to all the music staff, to the audience and especially to the performers for their entertaining performances. We look forward to next years Soiree series with great anticipation. 

Great Exam Results!

A huge congratulations to Rebecca for achieving an ‘A’ for her AMEB eighth grade flute exam. This is an enormous achievement for any student but to do this in her Year 12 year is exceptional. 

Rebecca completed the repertoire exam which meant she needed to perform 5 pieces from a set list. Three of her pieces were accompanied and two were unaccompanied. Audience members at two of the Soiree’s would have been lucky to hear Rebecca perform some of her pieces. To complete her successful week, Rebecca then went on to win two of the sections at the Traralgon Eisteddfod over the weekend and received a special monetary prize to support her future musical education. Well done Rebecca!

Spring Music Concert

We celebrated the end of Term 3 with our Spring Concert on Tuesday night. The evening started with pre-concert music provided by the Improvisation Group. Throughout the night the audience were treated to a variety of performances including Sweet Home Alabama by our Guitar Group, Stand by Me performed by our Intermediate Band and Highlights from Aladdin by the Senior Concert Band. The evening ended with a light supper where staff, students and parents took the opportunity to chat.

Thank you to all the students, staff and volunteers who made this concert a huge success and congratulations to all the performers.
